DO THE RIGHT THING
Featuring a Special Introduction by Oscar-Nominated Actress Rosie Perez.
In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the film, USA proudly presents the 7th movie in the Characters Unite Film Series to use the power of storytelling to help combat hate and discrimination.
Released in 1989, "Do the Right Thing" tells the story of a neighborhood's simmering racial tension, all of which comes to a tragic conclusion on the hottest day of the summer in Brooklyn. The film sparked a national dialogue more than two decades ago about race relations in America, and remains timely and relevant today.
Nominated for Best Original Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor for Danny Aiello, the film was deemed culturally significant by the U.S. Library of Congress and was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry, one of just five films to have this honor in their first year of eligibility.
